Safety Tips for Razor Pocket Rocket Riders

Are you ready to join the latest craze in biking? Then you must be considering getting a Razor Pocket Rocket. Pocket racing is a hot trend that is quickly growing into big business. The Razor Pocket Rocket is a scaled down electric sports bike that looks like the real thing but is safe enough for kids. This exhilarating ride is designed with safety in mind, but as with any motorbike, there are certain safety precautions the rider should follow. Here are a few tips to keep your Razor Pocket Rocket ride safe as well as exciting.

As you should with any electric or motorized product, read the Razor Pocket Rocket owner's manual before you use the bike the first time. It contains important information regarding the care and maintenance of your motorbike and has some great safety guidelines as well. The manual will also help you troubleshoot any problems that may occur and help you get the most out of your ride. The manual recommends that the bike be ridden by children age 12 and up but does say that is an estimate. A parent should decide whether their child be allowed to ride the Pocket Rocket based on the child's physical condition, maturity and his willingness to follow rules.

Though you may only be cruising at 15 miles per hour on your Razor Pocket Rocket you will be going fast enough to get hurt if you don't take precautions.  It's a smart idea to wear an approved safety helmet that fits you properly every time you ride. Be sure to buckle the chin strap as well.

Long pants and long-sleeved shirts are the best clothing to wear, topped with elbow pads and knee pads. You should also wear gloves.

Wear closed shoes with sturdy soles, not sandals, and never ride barefoot. Be sure your shoelaces are tied and kept away from any moving parts. 

Check with your local law enforcement agency to see where you are allowed to use your Razor Pocket Rocket. Never choose a location where there are traffic hazards or pedestrians. Don't ride on wet or icy ground.

Drive defensively. Keep your eyes open for any obstacles in your path.

Know your limits. Remember, it is more difficult to ride on hills and rough terrain and you are taking more risks when you leave level ground.
