Do you have pet dogs at home that you would like to bring with you anytime and anywhere you go but you’re just afraid to bring them for fear that they might get lost. You don’t have to be afraid to bring your beloved canines when you go jogging or walking in the park. If your dog isn’t disciplined enough to stay with you without the usual leash, then you could still bring them with you by attaching the leash to a dog collar. One of the usual reasons for getting dog collars is to ensure that your dog has proper identification with them in case they get lost. Another reason is to list his vaccination history so that you will never forget it. There are dog collars though that are more popular than the rest and listed below are 5 of the most popular dog collars available today:
Dog Training Collar Review
Dog training collars
Dog training collars are the most popular type of dog collars as they serve a dual purpose. They not only have your dog’s proper identification and vaccination but they will also help you discipline your dog in the event that they get too unruly or aggressive. There are several electronic dog training collars that you might find very helpful to you especially when your puppy is still young and you haven’t had the chance yet to enroll him in obedience school. With this type of dog collars, you can even try teaching your dog a trick or two. You can even discipline the dog yourself.
Choke collars
are perfect for very unruly dogs that need to be trained. These are very flexible that’s why some dog owners prefer this type of collars compared to the other types. Choke collars are very good for agility training.
Head collars
are perfect for training dogs especially when you want to control your dog’s movement.
Pronged collars
are perfect for small people who have big or unruly dogs as this would give them leverage over their dogs. With this type of collar, you need not be afraid or overwhelmed by the size or behavior of your dogs.

Bark collars
are dog collars that will help you teach your dog to control or only to bark in special circumstances. Every time your dog barks, the collar would give out an annoying sound, electric shock (similar to the one they will get with training collars) or unpleasant odor which will discourage your dog from barking.
There are other types of dog collars that you can choose from depending on your need, budget and functionality. Primary things to consider are your dog’s size and comfort as well. Checking for comfort is very simple. Just insert two fingers between the collar and the dog’s neck. That gives your dog plenty of room to move around without the fear of getting choked. Your budget would also figure when you are choosing the type of collar to get though it doesn’t necessarily mean that collars that meet your need tend be expensive. They might cost you money but what you need to consider is getting the best value for your money.

I like the usage descriptions that accompany each of the types of collars presented here. I am skeptical about using choke collars for agility training though as I am afraid they may cause neck injuries to dogs.
